Women's Division 5th Annual Gala Spring Luncheon-Another Success!

5th Annual LuncheonThe 2009 Keren Or Women's Division Gala Spring Luncheon was held May 13th at the beautiful Park Ave Synagogue in New York City.
Women's Division Chair, Marilyn Lauer, once again served as Mistress of Ceremonies, ensuring that participants enjoyed a lovely and inspirational afternoon together.  The luncheon, this year co-chaired by the very capable Debra Parkoff, Nicole Appleman, Bina Blumenfrucht, and Linda Rothschild, is the highlight of the season, as well as our major fundraising event. Also thanks to Young Leadership Co-Chairs Sarette Hornblass, Alisa Oliner, Ilana Lawrence, Elana Dushey, and Samara Papilsky.
This year’s honorees were life-long Keren Or supporters Judy Steinberg and Sherri Herring.   Judy, nurtured in a world of caring, communal leadership and philanthropy, is active in many 5th Annual LuncheonJewish organizations. Along with her husband, Dr. Edward L. Steinberg, chairman of Keren Or, Judy is devoted to the well being of Keren Or’s special students.  Sherri Herring, Judy and Ed’s daughter, has followed in the footsteps of her parents and is actively involved on behalf of several charities, with Keren Or being the closest to her heart.  As a vice-president of the Women’s Division board, Sherri has created and led several successful fund-raising projects.
A special award was given to Linda Sterling, who has volunteered her time and impressive scholarship as docent for numerous Women’s Division programs at the Guggenheim and Jewish Museums, which are always sell-out programs.
