The Capital Campaign is more than just a building project
for Keren Or, it is a realization of our vision for the future of these
special children. There are 3 basic elements to the Campaign -A hydrotherapy
center, new classrooms, and a new synagogue. We are embarking on a construction
program that will include the following critical factors for each element:
Hydrotherapy Center
Hydrotherapy is a vital part of the rehabilitative therapy we offer at Keren Or. The existing pool is simply not adequate for our growing children and young adults. We must expand our existing pool. This will allow us to treat more children at one time and maintain a level of world-class therapy for all our students. The Keren Or hydrotherapy program has come to serve as a model for similar institutions elsewhere in the world.The Hydrotherapy Pool - We will build a large, specially designed pool that includes elements essential for the rehabilitation of our children:

Locker Rooms - Specially designed locker rooms for handicap access provide students with privacy and space to change clothes and shower; important basic skills they need to practice.

Offices - A first-aid station and administrative offices located directly overlooking the pool will allow for supervision of the pool area at all times.

Visitors' Gallery -With a separate secure entrance from outside the main building, visitors to Keren Or can observe pool activities without disturbing or distracting the students or staff. This area will consist of an office, reception area and observation gallery.
Classrooms
Classroom learning is a fundamental part of the overall treatment we,
offer. The additional space provided by these new classrooms will support
the students' progress on a daily basis.
Two new general use classrooms will be built at Keren Or using expansion space left unfinished in the original construction. Classrooms will have the most up to date therapy equipment for stimulation, education and fun.
The third new room will be used as a "Multi-Sensory Therapy Room." This room will provide for a protected and controlled environment where children receive sensory stimulation such as lights and moving colors for those with residual vision, or sound, aroma and tactile sensations for those who are completely blind.
Synagogue
The synagogue is an integral part of the school and the surrounding community. By expanding the synagogue we allow greater access to our friends and family and help our special children connect with their heritage and their community.As the Hydrotherapy Center will encompass the present synagogue space. a new synagogue will be constructed in the existing expansion space on the main level. The synagogue will contain more seating, a beautiful ark and a garden terrace; all blending together to become a tranquil environment for reflection, prayer and communal bonding.
